8 Septembrie : 1937 - S-a nascut Gheorghe Vladutescu, filosof, membru corespondent al Academiei Romane. In 1974, primeste din partea Academiei Romane premiul ''Vasile Conta'' pentru lucrarea ''Introducere in filosofia evului mediu'' ("O istorie a ideilor filosofice").
1949 - A murit Richard Strauss, compozitor si dirijor german, reprezentant al post-romantismului ("Asa grait-a Zarathustra", "Don Juan" - poeme simfonice; "Salomeea", "Electra" - opere) (n.11.06.1864).
1979 - S-a nascut Pink (Alecia Moore), cantareata si dansatoare americana.
